Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These terms govern your use of aquiladigital.net (the "Site"), operated by Steven R. Brown doing business as Aquila Digital ("Aquila Digital," "we," "us"). By using this Site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

About Aquila Digital

Aquila Digital provides website design and development, web and mobile application development, and IT and cybersecurity support for local businesses, along with free community technology-literacy seminars for older adults. IT and cybersecurity support is an actively expanding service line, not yet a long-established practice area, and is offered on that basis.

Use of this Site

This Site is provided for informational purposes: to describe our services, show past work, and let you get in touch. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes and not to attempt to disrupt, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to it or the systems behind it.

Client engagements

These Site-wide terms cover browsing and using this website itself. They are not a service contract. Any actual paid engagement (a website build, an app, IT or cybersecurity support, or anything else) is governed by its own separate written agreement or statement of work, signed by both parties, which will set out the specific scope, deliverables, timeline, payment terms, intellectual property transfer, and warranty for that project. Submitting the contact form or requesting a quote does not, by itself, create a service agreement.

No guarantee of absolute security

For IT and cybersecurity engagements specifically: no security measure, assessment, or recommendation can guarantee complete protection against cyber threats, and Aquila Digital does not represent otherwise. Security work reduces risk using reasonable, industry-informed practices. It does not eliminate risk. The specific responsibilities, limitations, and liability terms for a given engagement are defined in that engagement's signed agreement, not on this page.

Educational content and seminars

Content on this Site, and material covered in community seminars, is general information provided to help people use technology more safely and confidently. It's educational in nature, not a substitute for an individualized security assessment of your specific situation, device, or business, and shouldn't be relied on as such.

Intellectual property

The content on this Site, including text, design, graphics, and code, belongs to Aquila Digital unless otherwise noted, and is shown here to represent our work. It isn't licensed for reuse without permission. Work shown under "Work" remains subject to whatever ownership terms were agreed with each respective client.

Third-party links

This Site links to third-party sites (like LinkedIn or GitHub) for convenience. We don't control and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

Limitation of liability

This Site and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aquila Digital isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this Site. This limitation applies to use of the website itself; liability terms for a specific paid engagement are set out in that engagement's signed agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect once posted here, reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
